WAHM Connections - Alot has happened over the past three years of working online with a home business resource site like WAHM Connections.

The biggest thing is that I've learned to separate myself from the "things" online that took up time and clouded my goals.  Some people absolutely THRIVE on the social aspect of online communities like Yahoo! groups and Ryze while I've found them to overwhelming for me.  I've learned that blogging is a much better level of interaction for me.  Although this blog has been terribly neglected - I've been busy learning how to blog effectively and make money with my blogs but it continues to be an ongoing thing for me.

On my Online Business News and Reviews at WAHM Connections, I'm doing regular posts to help other learn the ins and outs of blogging for business.  There is so much to learn that I'm sure I won't run out of ideas for posts and tutorials.  It seems I don't have the attention span to write an ebook or create an audio - and podcasting terrifies me :-) so this will have to suffice!

My affiliate marketing blog continues to help me focus on my most profitable aspect of marketing online.  I knowI will have to create my own product soon (there are alot of posts there on transitioning from selling other people's stuff to creating and marketing our own products) 

My most life changing site is my Debt Crunch! blog with a debt free living theme.  It's helping me focus more on reaching my financial goals - if nothing else, I am more goal oriented when it comes to handling my money.

I'm now living on own parent with four children - two young ones with special needs.  I need to plan carefully!  (I think we all do...)

I'm reading The Tipping Point - very unique and compelling.  In truth - its compelling right to the core.  As someone that is compulsive about knowing and understanding things that others just accept or discount, The Tipping Point has shown me that I am a knowledge maven.  I like KNOWING.  My expertise is wide and varied, often not useful ;-) BUT actually to some...my knowledge would be dynamite.  I am so intrigued about the different people that actually do the same thing (maybe..it's more that they TRY to do the same "sort" of thing) but the outcomes are wildly different.  In reading The Tipping Point, I've realized that I have traits of a Connector - I always want to link people, stories, trends, history together but I'm not actually a social animal.  In another life, maybe...

Maven is defined as a Yiddish word for a person with knowledge, expertise but along the way the definition of Maven includes "freakish."  I suppose that is because mavens have an uncanny gift of remembering and keeping track of things that others don't even notice.  An example?  I absolutely love The Medium on NBC.  When talking about The Medium to people that don't know who Patricia Arquette is ~ I go right into my litany on Patricia Arquette.  From her movies Stigmata and Holes to her marriage to Nicholas Cage and her siblings Rosanna and David Arquetter which can lead me down Rosanna Arquette being the inspiration for the song by Toto - Rosanna and her credits from Eight is Enough on TV to Desparately Seeking Susan.  I can go on but I think you get the point.  I'm not necessarily a movie buff (yes, I love movies) or celebrity stalker but I am a keeper of the facts.  It's an unofficial and unpaid role of course! 

Now, what does all of this have to do with The Tipping Point or even online business whatsoever?  It actually has a great deal to do with exactly WHAT I do.  I am a keeper of the facts - I'm a knowledge maven.  At any given time I can tell you who is coming out with a new affiliate program, who has done the most underhanded marketing scam this week and who to avoid like the absolute plague when it comes to online selling.

My email box is constantly filling up with emails from internet marketers and online business newsletter publishers plus affiliate networks.  Why?  Because I want to KNOW.

I will just admit it - I'm a knowledge junkie.  I try to stay on top of what's working, what's NOT working, who is making money and who is going bust.  It doesn't matter to me whether its a big fish or a little fish ~ I want to know if what they are selling is real, worthwhile, legitimate and actually valuable.  Some are scams yes but some are people that release products before they are ready, some just don't know what they are doing but over the last two years of reading and interacting - connecting with some very successful and not successful online business owners - I've learned one thing.

Nothing is stagnant.  Everything changes.  The venues.  The marketing strategies.  Joint Venture alliances.  The social and economic circles online are just that CIRCLES.  Amazingly I didn't know how to label what I was seeing online until I started reading The Tipping Point.  The most successful people online are both Connectors and Salespeople that are linked to Mavens.  Connectors are the social animals, charasmatic and outgoing and Salespeople are people focused experts on their products but somewhere in there is a quieter shadow that is the knowledge maven that pulls together the information on the best of the best to know so that Connectors and Salespeople make things HAPPEN.

Kind of cool don't ya think!  :-)
