TGIF

Today was the only day that my Internet did not poop out on me sometime during my workday. Yippee!  So my work went fairly smoothly and I got a lot accomplished.  I even had a little spare time thiis afternoon to answer a few emails and do a little research.
I am waiting to pick up my daughter from the Away football game.  It is really hard to stay up much past 11:00PM !  Getting older means getting tired earlier.  Wow, she actually just called me so I am going to leave in a few minutes to get her.  Let's see if I can get out the door without the dogs having a fit!  We finally had to buy a crate for Molly because she really attacks my purse and me if I try to leave (or when anyone else leaves for that matter). It was getting increasingly worse making sure we got out, she stayed in, and all that.  I think she may be already sleeping somewhere though so I should be able to duck out tonight.  I'm glad it is time to pick her up because my eyes are starting to sting <---they're telling me they want to be closed for the night! :)
Bye.

Suddenlink? Suddenly gone!

I should have gone back to bed this entire week so far.  Monday my cable which used to be about 99.99% connected when it was Cox Communications...and now called Suddenlink, was out from 11:30AM to sometime during the night (when it no longer was crucial for my work) !! So Suddenlink is more like Suddenly no link!
Then Tuesday it was off again from about 11:10AM to 2:00PM! The cleaning lady said I should switch to Direct TV.  Told her I didn't know they had cable internet, but she is pretty sure they do.  I have to have a reliable company so Suddenlink may be Suddenly Gone if I investigate it and switch to somewhere else.
I muddled through work somehow although it took me four hours to do the work that would take me 1/2 hour to do with cable internet service. Yell   And today, well today I can't log on to work due to a corporate issue, nothing to do with my cable internet - for once.  I was even going to get a jump start before 7:00am!  Something usually goes awry when I try to start early though so I should have seen it coming.
On a good note though, I love the new cleaning gal I got.  She is good and really cleans well.  The brown stains in the kitchen sink are gone and the toilet stains are nearly gone too!  I asked her what she used and she is not revealing her secrets - smart lady!  I'm just glad I found her - I need to thank my folks neighbors again!
Yesterday was a good day at Wood Stock.  Had around 9 people in and 3 sales!  That may not sound like much, but for us it is!  I like to hear my hub excited at the end of the day instead of bummed out that no one even came in.  So that is another good thing.
The other underwriting work I do part-time has files that are crumbling before me.  Things just aren't documented the way they should be and when I get them and ask for the proper documentation, they can't get it and then the loans don't close.  I do charge something even when they don't close, but I think I'm going to have to charge more than I used to because lately more are NOT closing than are closing...which just creates more wasted time for me. I need to find a broker or lender that I can really work with, that puts loans together the way they should be....so that everything goes smoothly and fast, creating happy borrowers and more work for everyone!
Well, back to see if I can do any more work yet. Undecided

No email

Wow! This week sure flew!  I can't believe it is Sunday already!  I really meant to keep writing in this every day but it just doesn't seem to happen.  Well with all that is going on all the time between work, daughter's schedule and the 5 furkids!
For some reason I have no email and haven't since Saturday morning.  Unfortunately my web host is away too so it will be at least until tonight before it is fixed. I just hope I don't miss too many important emails as they just get lost in cyberspace when this happens.  I never get to see them, just whatever comes in once the problem is fixed.
I went over to the Hill Country store yesterday and got the rest of my things out of there and into Wood Stock. I chatted with my ex-partner from there and all is well (and she promised she'd pay me what she owes me on Monday - we'll see...).  It is just as well I got out of there because I couldn't really see paying half of all the bills for there and only make a smidge (in sales) of what it cost me. For someone who is constanting number crunching, that was a stupid decision on my part. At least it was only for 2 months!
What is really exciting is on Friday, the very next day after getting some things set up in the back room of Wood Stock, I had some sales already!! Woo hoo!  So it was a good move to combine my gift things with Steve's wood art as I always thought all along.  So maybe sales will be good from now through the holidays - fingers crossed!
Yesterday was our anniversary.  Hub got me a card which I thought was really sweet.  I didn't think he would so I didn't bother getting him one.  We just have really toned down the gift stuff in recent years.  We are going out to dinner to celebrate which will be nice.  It has been 7 years already - for me that is a lot. :)
Well I'm going to putz around and get some breakfast.

Slow day...

Since my work day is slow today I thought I'd pop by and write something.  I found out that my ex-partner at the shop did not change the locks on me but rather the owner of the building did.  So at least that was not an intentional thing.  Would have been nice to know though because I was pretty peeved on Saturday.    Hub got a lot of things out of there today anyway as planned and into Wood Stock for me to organize and sell there.  We're waiting on a few shelving units being built for me. I'm going to hopefully display things nicely like the gal does in the shop I had the short partnership with.
I volunteered to help out at a band event on Friday night - working concession stand.  Hey, if I could sling hambugers years ago at McDonalds, I can work at a concession stand now with all these additional years of cooking experience!  Besides it might be fun and I actually may be able to get a friendship or two started.
I even got to do some other things today ahead of time which is cool.  Leaves me open to watch 'HOUSE' tonight uninterrupted. Bums me out tho' that he is back to popping pills - is it for pain or addiction...?....hmmm.
Went out to eat for my birthday Sunday and back to the folks for cake.  Mom was wigging out because there was a nice assembly line of ants crawling away from their bread box on their kitchen counter when we arrived after dinner.  I told her they were probably after the bread but she insisted they weren't in the bread.  My dad proceeded to smack them with his hand to try to kill some of them.  I walked away for a bit but went back in and said "Are you sure they're not after the bread"?  Then I flipped the lip of the bread basket and not only were they in there, there were plenty having a feast inside the bread bag!  I was waiting for mom to say "that's it!, we're moving back to PA".   If she did, I was going to retort "No, you can't say that until you've had a big friggin roach crawl in your hair"!  Tongue out
Gotta learn to live with the bugs including tarantulas. There are trade offs to living in a great climate.  Hopefully this winter she'll be thankful that she won't have to worry about Dad shoveling the snow at 80 years old!
Oh I changed my abcmortgage.net website to concentrate on the phone consultation services although I'd still love to get a few clients for my underwriting/processing services.  We'll see how the change helps.  It looks a lot simpler which is maybe what people need.  Well I'm going to go find something else to do.
Hey if you get a chance check out Dianes Domestic Shoppe!

Yikes!

I forgot about that stupid roach I posted and freaked myself out when I decided to post a little tonight.  Silly me!  Well I'm waiting for the phone call to pick up my daughter and I'm really sleepy. So I have Jay Leno and my computer to try to help keep me awake.

We went and ate mexican for dinner and it took so long that it had rained while we were in there and had already stopped.  We were surprised to see the wet parking lot and of course I once again had left my windows open but it must not have rained too much because the seats were actually dry.  At least I didn't see any roaches on the seat! :)

Ewwwwww !!!!!!!!!!!

default

This is really gross!  One of these things crawled onto my hair last night while I was innocently sitting on one of our new Love Seats!  UGH!  I screeched and swiped at whatever was in my hair and my hub told me it was one of "THOSE"...bugs.  I managed to get my revenge by pulverizing it on the fireplace stone just as it was trying to make its escape!
That is really the one main thing I don't like about Texas .The big bugs!  Maybe I need to call the exterminator again even though they were just out here about a month ago.  I don't want to sit on the Love Seat anytime again soon.

Re-runs of Grays' Anatomy

I am so ready to watch new episodes of Grays Anatomy that I am watching the re-runs which are almost as good, but can't wait to see what happens next.  I think Meredith should dump Dr McDreamy for the Vet.  He won't go back to his wife on her ..because she is dead! :)
I made an offer to the NJ mortgage guy today to run his DUs for his brokers but he isn't smart enough to take me up on my offer.  Oh well.  I am thinking about posting to offer my services elsewhere. There must be someone out there who would like to know the shape of their files and have an underwriter's fingers through every one so that everything goes smoothly. It is something I'm going to put out soon I think.  I need to make some solid extra pay so that I can afford to pay for these dreams I want to make come true. Oh that reminds me. Played the lottery for yesterday. Should go check the numbers.

Where did those 3 months go???

Well !  I can't believe it has been almost 3 months since I've written in this thing.  Thanks for noticing Yvonne!  I didn't think anyone really read it (other than myself) Cool
I also can't believe the summer went by so quickly, but then again it stays pretty hot for a while around here.  Back in PA I'd probably be pulling out the sweaters by now.  Well let's see.  One kid started back to college this year.  She seemed ready to go and satisfied that she got to spend a good month in PA this summer.  I can't blame her since that is where all her friends are, other than at college.  Hope she can keep those strong friendships going for a lifetime.  Good friends are hard to come by and the true ones are the ones that are always there, no matter what.   My best friends are actually cyber gals.  There are a few people that I've met here but no one I can say I'd call up and grab a bite to eat with (like my friend Yvonne and I used to do once in a while in PA).  Maybe I will get more friends as time goes by, but I do spend an awful lot of time at home which is fine with me anyway.
My other kid is enjoying being in high school although she opted to take a few advanced classes that are not working out too well. She may try to switch back to regular classes, at least in geometry.Of course I'm no help. Even though I love playing with figures and have always been a wiz at simple math, even Algebra....geometry was always foreign to me..almost as bad as calculus...I said almost.
We've been plugging away with WoodStock although this summer was so slow we probably could have been closed except for Saturdays and done just as well.  I even was partnering up with another gal who already owns a gift shop in the same area, but that didn't work out and I'm going to mesh my things with Steve's in WoodStock by the end of the month.  We're looking into trying to get a space closer to home and with a lot more population when the lease is up at WoodStock.  it all depends on the financial situation and how daring we feel.  I tend to be very daring but not when it comes to getting into more debt!
I am still working the same mortgage stuff and still pretty busy with it.  What can I say, I'm a mortgage nerd!  I can't help it!  If I had more guts I'd try to just be a mortgage broker so I could just do the damn loans myself the right way instead of seeing everyone else botch up things. Innocent
Oh, we did manage to get my folks out here to live.  Sold their house in June, just in time before another flood and they seem to be happy enough living here.  It was a long haul for them and a hectic week packing (there was so much to do yet when I got there)!! Oye!! But it all went well. Now half the family lives in Texas. At least we know where Christmas will be held most years - majority rules!!
We recently adopted sheltie #5- Obi-Won :)  He is the largest one we have but very gentle and subdued.  Such a nice change from Molly terror and her side kick Kaci Lacy.  Obi is fitting in pretty well and does love to be petted - a lot ! Wink   We're definitely stopping at 5.  The dogs are already making the house smell like a kennel when it is all closed up.
Well I will try to start writing in this thing more often. I swore that I would keep up with it. Oh, here's the two nut cases 'off duty'!   default
