Diane's Diary-ah

Well I did it. I joined the ranks of millions with a myspace page.  I did it mostly so that I could hear some tracks of music from my favorite artists. Most have myspace pages too (or their fan clubs do) and I can click on 3-5 hits and listen to them while I work.  I'm sure I'll get to know my way around it after I get used to it.  It is still very new to me.  Here is the link to it.

We got our new pup TikaNeedless to say I feel a bit overwhelmed, but I'm sure it will get better.  A few of the other dogs (especially our male) do not particularly like her being in their face..so have to be watchful.

Cancelled my hair appt for tomorrow. Just can't afford it.  I have really been trying to tighten the reigns on the expenses and getting my hair done is one of those things. I think we may drop our health insurance. Looking for another low cost one (to just have for major medical occurances), or possibly drop it completely.  Turns out I don't think much of any of the MRI's, eye doctors or ER is going to be covered by this insurance that we've been shelling out $622/mo lately for.  Of course the insurance went up $116/month in January.  I'm just thinking if I cancel that will save us $622/month that will definitely ease the finance situation.  It is risky but my family had no insurance for years and my folks had 4 kids!

Well, TGIF!!  but I better get to work.   

I haven't forgotten about my blog, just have had some things going on lately. Most recently my hub was temporarily blind in one eye for about 5 minutes a week ago.  Although his sight came back we went to an eye doctor last Monday who highly suggested thorough testing as it was something to take seriously!

Took him to the local hospital where they did a few tests including blood tests, told him all was fine and sent him home. Two opposite opinions caused for an uneasy feeling.  He went back to the eye doc yesterday who couldn't believe the hospital did not do an MRI so he had that done Monday late afternoon - 3 MRI tests all at once..  The results?  He is more healthy than typical 40 something year olds! Go figure!  We are elated it is nothing and just hope that he won't ever experience that sort of thing again.  He does have headaches but it could be stress related or the wood burning he does.

I am still looking for part-time processing or underwriting at home.  Nothing yet.  If I didn't hate home parties so much, I'd try to supplement my income with Lia Sophia.  So many gals seem to make great money at it. But I just am not that social.  I tried to have an online party last night, posted it everywhere, but only my girlfriend (and partner in a few online businesses showed up).  That gets discouraging. I even offer prizes fro games...but that doesn't seem to matter.

I may go around to local hair salons and dr offices and leave a few catalogs there...so many people have to wait to see the doctors, it may be a good thing if I am allowed to leave some. 

My kid in college came home for one day during Spring Break and it was a nice visit!  We got to take Tika (our new puppy) home with us for a few hours.  We get her permanently when she is 8 wks old which is next Tuesday! :)

Can't wait!  Here is a picture of her.   Better get to work...

I  better watch out because I may get too used to having my weekends free.  I really do need a part-time something or other to have enough money to go around....and I'm still trying....but until then, it feels really weird to have so much free time!! :)

Today I let Stacey drive around the neighborhood for the first time.  We have limited her to the school parking lot on weekends but she is needing more of a challenge than that.  She did quite well and made her feel more like a driver with cars actually passing her going the other way.  

Then we went to visit Tika, our newest puppy we're getting the end of the month.  She and all her siblings are so adorable.  They are really budding in personality as some like to play with each other and pick on each other.  I am going to see if I can't sneak my dad over to see them with me some day.  There are 3 males available still and I know for a fact he'd really like another dog.  My mom wouldn't be thrilled but ....they've been without a dog for years now...it is time! :)

Putzing around on this computer now and later going to visit my sister for a bit.  No big plans tomorrow except for the dreaded grocery shopping.  I don't know why I really hate to go so much, but it is the worst part of my weekend.  I'm maybe going to go early again like I did last Sunday to get it over with before the church crowd gets out.  Last Sunday I just put a hoodie on over my exercise wear and it was fine.  I saw at least two other people with shorts on.  And I don't really care who I bumped into at the grocery anyway.  Nobody in this town I have to impress.
